"parallels with things like capt. beefheart (troutmaskreplica), henry cow, mr. bungle, zappa. yes, very wild. compositions get a bit out of control (12 tones actually DO have limits- some of these pieces almost never end), but the energy and ambitions, especially in improvisational contexts, more than compensate."

"Blast are a difficult band to get into, but if you're familiar with Henry Cow, Captain Beefheart or other highly inaccessible bands, try this one. This is a group that is equally adept at performing insanely complex music and generating a furious energy that the Sex Pistols could only dream of. As I said before though, this music takes time to appreciate, and it is not recommended for a)dates or b)parties."
