Black Tie Dynasty delve easily into a night populated with warm leather and mixed drinks. Drawing from a large pool of collective influences, they have tapped into that same heated blood that coursed through the legendary music of groups like Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen, and Depeche Mode to create sleek synth-rock for the modern day. Transcending mere nostalgic melancholy, they have come together on the EP, "This Stays Between Us", and put to tape a work that is vital and immediate. The record serves as both a canvas and litmus paper, preserving the finer aspects of their dynamic stage performance while testing new ground in an effort to deconstruct any preconceived notion of their image and ability. "I have to say that Black Tie Dynasty are a solid new act with great potential. This ep is a stellar start to what might be a steady climb to the top. Sure bands such as The Killers and Franz Ferdinand are making waves with the 80's dance grooves, but one thing that makes Black Tie stand out is the fact that the songs have soul. Cory Watson is a great lyricist. His lyrics matched with great music puts Black Tie on the darker side with just a hint of light. I can sit and listen to the entire 6 song ep and just lose myself. I have had the opportunity to see them live several times and let me just say that they have the whole package. The band is currently working on a full length album and the songs that are gonna be on it are incredible. With a little press and some prime time radio play we could just see the band take flight. If you want a great album that will keep you moving....this is it! Just check the band's myspace profile and see the comments the fans have been leaving."
