One of the great Swedish voices

"Bjorn Skifs is probably most famous for being the voice of "mostly bubblegum but sometimes with a rootsy edge" outfit Blue Swede, who had a number one hit in the U.S. with their version of Hooked On A Feeling in 1974 (Never My Love was also high in the charts). However, in his native Sweden he had been around since the 60's, as the lead singer/organist of the Slam Creepers. After Hooked On A Feling he concentrated on the local market, recording mainstream quality albums in both Swedish and English before turning to a successful career as an actor in light weight comedy and as a TV show host.
Skifs also guested the original CD version of Bjoern & Benny (of ABBA fame) musical Chess as the Arbiter and for a while was being considered as the lead singer of David Foster's studio project Airplay.
Skifs has a great, soulful, slightly husky rock'n'roll voice. While his image is a bit clean-cut, almost a bit Cliff Richard-like, his voice could be compared to that of David Coverdale's.
If he had played his cards right, or been motivated enough, Skifs could probably have become the lead singer of almost any international rock band.
This compilation contains some of his Swedish hits and some of his English hits but as a whole really doesn't do him justice."
