CD ReviewsGutsy Rendition of Venus as a Boy 01/25/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "Yes, I am slightly biased and would probably give all of Bjork's work 5 stars. I've never felt compelled to share an opinion before, however, until I heard the more raw sound present on this cut of Venus As A Boy.It almost has a slight reggae feel to it, with a simple driving, real drum rhythm rolling along throughout, and a less "produced" sound than the original CD cut. The unique sound shading manages to create a "live" sound. When I played it to my skeptical friend, he asked for details about how to procure the CD single. I believe that Bjork always hits the nail on the head. This time, she again does it, simply, sweetly and with oomph."
