Synopsis
Product Description BJ Thomas owns one of the most distinctive voices in American pop music; with over 70 million records sold, his vocal versatility is as apparent today on his latest album, Love To Burn, as it was when he recorded his first hit in 1967, "I'm so Lonesome I Could Cry". Nothing about the identifiable sound of B.J. THOMAS' voice has changed. Recognizing the continued loyalty of his fans, B.J. has established his own label, B.J. Thomas Music, which debuts with the release of LOVE TO BURN. Since the mid-1960s, BJ Thomas has become one of the most recognized and respected voices of the American musical landscape. He has impacted many areas of popular music with 15 Top 40 pop hits, 10 Top 40 country hits, 5 Grammys, 2 Dove awards and 15 Gold and Platinum Records. "As a singer," he says, "I have the chance to lift the spirits of the audience and make them feel good, at least for the evening." It's an attitude people have noticed. Fans frequently approach BJ to thank him for the impact of his songs ranging from the mega hit "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head" to country smashes like "New Looks From An Old Lover." BJ's music is testimony to the fact he is a survivor. He has overcome personal adversity and addiction as well as weathered professional storms to emerge musically stronger than ever. 1 Love To Burn2 A Song For You3 Heaven's Gotta Help4 Back Against The Wall5 Angel6 A Miracle In You7 Streets Of Fire8 Stranger In The Mirror9 Be Honest10 Play Something Sweet11 I Never Could Have Made It Without You12 T-R-O-U-B-L-E |
CD ReviewsGetting better with age Mark Graham | 10/17/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "There are only 2 male singers I know that still have the great voices they had when they first started. One is Engelbert Humperdink, the other B.J.Thomas. This CD reminds me of all the great CD's he put out in the early to mid eighties when he was with Cleveland International/CBS. Those CD's starting with New Looks and ending with Night Life will go down as Classic recordings by the greatest singing voice of all time B.J.Thomas. Even though all the songs on Love to Burn are great it's the ballads like Miracle in You,Stranger in the Mirror, and the Archie Jordan penned Be Honest that let us know that at the age of 67 (and he doesn't look that old) he still has the greatest male voice of all time. For the die-hard BJ fans like myself this CD will certainly go down as another timeless gem in my B.J.Thomas library.Mark Graham Canada"
