CD Reviews

The Greatest Billy Mackenzie CD !
Brien Comerford | Glenview, Illinois United States | 12/04/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"The late Billy Mackenzie was graced with a glorious voice, an enigmatic personality and a heart of gold. This album is replete with heavenly, haunting, spellbinding, riveting and melancholic songs brilliantly sung by Billy Mackenzie. He could sing songs ranging from dance music to opera. His vocals were so good he was on a par with Freddie Mercury. Some of these dynamic and grievous songs were the last ones recorded prior to his untimely overdose. In the last years of his life Billy lived in seclusion with his beloved pet whippet dogs. After his mother died, life became painful for Billy Mackenzie and he lamentably perished. This CD is a must buy. Billy Mackenzie had a kind spirit and a divine voice that was revered by Bono and Jim Kerr the vocalist of Simple Minds."
