"My husband and I were discussing this album the other day, and we agreed that the wonder of it is in the images that the songs bring up. They are ethereal images, sometime of biblical concepts and sometimes of common experience. The words imply, rather than state. And the music supports the pictures perfectly, like frames that only enhance. This album, and Simple Plans, are my favorites so far."

"Billy Crockett ... if you don't know already, he is one of the best acoustic guitar players you're likely to ever hear ... he is one of the best song writers you're likely to ever discover ... I could not imagine any honest, truly objective music lover that would not see the value of his work.Watermarks, in my humble opinion, is his best work. That is saying quite a lot since his other works are pretty strong ... Watermarks is my favorite for a number of reasons. Every song is a masterpiece. Each song flows into the next seamlessly. The production is first rate. Sonically, it is pleasant, bright and forceful. I must respectfully disagree with one reviewer who said the album could have been shorter. This work is complete and stands almost perfect as is.From the musicianship, profound and challenging lyrics and just plain beautiful melodies, Watermarks is a great acquisition. If you play or love acoustic guitar, you owe it to yourself to discover Crockett and Watermarks is a good place to start. This one has it all ... conviction (try on Bendico's Shoes for size), encouragement (Mercy as the Rain), introspection (Question Pool), inspiration (Watermarks), real life (A Little Lower than the Angels) and the list goes on.And Watermarks is NOT just Crockett's best, it is one of the all-time best CCM albums I have ever heard. If you gave me only one CD to listen to, I'd be quite content with repeated listens of Watermarks. Needless to say, DON'T MISS THIS ONE!!!!- Scriptor"

"From the first few notes of "Lines", you are transported into a world of contemplation with a groove. Journeys in common, written with uncommon beauty. Aging, hoping, regretting, and longing to connect are all parts of Billy Crockett's songs. His musicianship always leaves you feeling safe and in good hands. While he searches inside himself, he lifts you up and takes you along. Any acoustic guitar fan, or lyrical songwriter should buy this record. File him between James Taylor and Mac McAnally."

"Fans of Billy Crockett know all about his amazing guitar skills. This album once again demonstrates his guitar virtuosity, vocal talent and songwriting skills. There is always something in Billy's albums that touches my heart with poignancy and also a lot that makes me tap my feet. His music is unlike any other and it truly is God-given talent. I would actually rate this album 4.5 stars as it could have been a song or so shorter, but it is definitely worth the purchase price. As always, the quality of the recording is excellent. The album really is fun and ministers to the heart. A good one!"
