A near-perfect sampler

"A fine retrospective/sampler of the celebrated Billy Childish covering the period from his entry into recorded music with the Pop Rivits or Pop Rivets through the early stages of the Buff Medways.
Any album such as this is prone to become dated and increasingly unrepresentative of the performer as time passes. This circumstance is exacerbated by the fact that Billy Childish desolves his bands and creates new ones about every 5 years. I mention this because this compendium does not address most of the Buff Medways output and absolutely none of the two (yes, two) bands that have been formed since 2002.
That does not and should not imply that '25 Years of Being Childish' is not a valuable purchase. To my mind, it is quite the opposite as it provides the best means to evaluate his material. In a manner somewhat similar to Neil Young having his country recordings and garage recordings, Mr. Childish has his ultra-garage recordings, blueserecordings as well as spoken word/poetry recordings. When one adds to this that he has - in various media - released well over 75 albums, this two CD package functions as a sampler to aid the listener in determing which Billy Childish is worthy of further listening."
Good, but I had to search

"I quite liked the cd, but there are a few tracks that I had to skip through. If anyone wanted to see how much better Billy Childish has gotten over the years, this cd showcases it perfectly. Overall, it is definitely worth the wait! Enjoy!"
