"English folk singer Bill Jones (a gal, by the way) is one of the most striking younger new artists to come around in quite some time. This is her third album to be released domestically in the United States, and it's a real winner. Amazingly, Jones just picks up greater depth and resonance as she goes along... This 2-CD set -- one disc of twelve sad, fabulous songs, and an additional four-song "Bits And Pieces" disc that sounds much like the first -- is a rich and rewarding listen, with a reflective, doleful air that is sustained over its entire length. Compared to her other albums, this set has more emphasis on new compositions, by Jones herself and contemporaries such as Pete Morton, Anne Hills and Brian Bedford, and though there is less "trad. arr." material, the entire album has a deep, old-world feel to it. What else can I say? This is another really great record; if you've heard her earlier albums, this one is at least their equal. Celtic/British trad fans should definitely snap it up."
Great find!

"I was listening to Folk Alley about 3 weeks ago and the song Two Year Winter was played. I got up to find out who it was and was so "Wowed" by the voice and music that I ordered the CD. I was not disappointed. This CD is now on my ipod and gets lots of playing time. For anyone who loves really good Folk Music I would highly recommend this CD."
Another beauty

"Another gorgeous album from Bill. Like Heidi Talbot she sings both traditional and contemporary songs, and as on Heidi's albums, the trad ones are the better, the others being rather lightweight and not especially memorable. Still, most of the album is traditional. A pity the 4-tracker wasn't added to the original album so it could all be heard in one session. Beautiful stuff though, English trad folk song at its best."
