"These recordings are by far mighty tough to find. The collection is a good cross cut of some "B" movie style western music. Set apart from country for the most part although many of the cuts are influenced by country of the day. Coming from the Detroit area, it is almost comical reading the insert information as it appears that most of the performers are riding the Western Cowboy life style facade and staking claim to their own lives. It is purely entertainment and you get a read feel of a struggling record company marketing Western Music of the day, trying to develop the latest interest. All in all, some great musicians subjected to time lacking arrangements. Musically by comparison of popular recordings of the day, the collection would generally receive 2 or 3 stars however, the compliation is such a novelty I find it more entertaining based on the nostalgia. Bill Haley is recognizeable in several recordings but stands out more as an energetic entertainer looking for his niche in the industry. You get a great sense of how he got to where he ended up with this CD."
