The Acoustic Versions

"Yes they are pulling out Big Country albums from the woodwork (next it will be Big Country Greatest Hits In Techno). This is the latest offering, a 17 song album of acoustic classics (well some of them). I found this album very clean and the sound is very crisp. You can actually hear every note on the guitars. Some songs sound alot different than the originals (Like "In A Big Country", which has a country music influence) and the bongo drums make a big difference to a few of them. My favourites on the album are "You Dreamer", "I'm not Ashamed" to name a few. Stuart Adamson's vocals shine throughout the album. If your a Big Country fan then you should not go without it."
A Possible Hit with Two Types of Fans

"First, one type of listener who will love this album will be devout Big Country fans wanting to hear acoustic reinterpretations of many different BC classics. The second possibility is this, though. Suppose you weren't a major fan of the group's rock sound. You probably only ever heard one or two songs by them. Their later stuff, much of it anyway, actually gets harder in sound. This album still might appeal to you because it's acoustic. A lot of these songs really have to be considered different songs in a lot of ways."
Brilliant

"First: I don't normally write reviews
Second: If you are a fan of "unplugged" you'll love this
Third: These are the songs stripped of all the studio effects. Man and instrument. Brilliant.
Removed of all such effects, overdubs, etc., the songs and artistry speak for themselves. Absolutely brilliant. Get this CD. If you are a BC fan you will NOT regret it. In fact, you MUST get this CD.
