Album DescriptionWhen composer Betsy Foster wrote the romantic and timeless duet "Loving You" nearly 20 years ago, she never dreamed it would become a favorite with brides worldwide, from her small hometown in Virginia to Australia and everywhere in between. "Loving You" is passionate, yet distinctly delicate, a hallmark of Ms. Foster's musical offerings. Over the two decades that ensued, the many requests Ms. Foster received for "Loving You" to be played at weddings of both friends and strangers prompted her to have it professionally recorded last year. She was able to locate the perfect blending of male and female voices in Heather Blair Jones and Brian Glenn, two outstanding singers from Nashville. Skillfully guided by talented producer Denny Martin of Antioch, Tennessee, the CD-single of "Loving You" surpassed even Ms. Foster's expectations. "As anyone who knows me will tell you, I'm a demanding perfectionist, often to a fault. Denny's beautiful choice of instruments combined with Heather and Brian's harmony were precisely what I envisioned for the song," she said after hearing it for the first time. On a whim, Ms. Foster decided to have "Loving You" arranged as an instrumental. Written for violin, flute, guitar, and piano, its quiet elegance is faintly reminiscent of Pachelbel's Canon, making it suitable for the processional, lighting of the unity candle, or as accompaniment for the vocal version. Both tracks appear on the CD-single. As more and more brides began discovering the song, they inquired about the availability of sheet music. As a finishing touch, musician Keith Terhune of Seattle, Washington was elected to transcribe "Loving You" into printed form."The greatest compliment anyone can give me," Ms. Foster recently remarked, "is that my music touched their hearts in some way. For me, that's the most rewarding payment of all."
