Beth and Better.

"Well it's been awhile for me hearing Beth do what she does best, her first album was `Early Days' released in 1999, and her last album `Titles & Idols' was released in 2001, and this one `Wholehearted' in 2007 (a big gap between 2001 and 2007 but Beth has been doing collaboration work during those years with the likes of Pale 3, Jakatta, Wasis Diop and D*Note). But ever since she sang 'All I Need' and 'You Make It Easy' two songs on Air's critically-acclaimed album 'Moon Safari' in 1998, I stood up and paid attention to this singer-songwriter.
Her voice really effected me, with her hypnotic allure and soft sultry tones-clear and beautiful; and finally a talented singer you could understand when you hear them sing. (Sophie Zelmani is another singer that comes to mind in this vein) As I understand it, this third solo album is a soundtrack to the movie of the same name; all the tracks are excellent, but my personal favourites are 'The Best Things Are Easy', 'Glad To Know' and 'Our Song' and you could be forgiven that it isn't a soundtrack at all (I'm not really into soundtracks but I was surprised with this one).
The other tracks on the album are `All Together', `Indelibly You', How Far You'll Go', `Wholehearted', `Out of Sight', `Here's the Love', `Life is Short but Wide', `Again', and `Love Will Come Again', all worthy in their own right, and are just as excellent to listen to, it's all Beth and you won't be disappointed, if you are a Beth Hirsch fan or want to be, this album is definitely for your collection; give it a listen. But check out Air's 'Moon Safari', and listen to the two song's that Beth sings on the album, especially when there is a full moon, somehow you fell you're on another planet.
