"We LOVE this CD at our house!! Hubby & I got adventurous in September of 2007 after a friend got me addicted to Indian food and we decided to try our hand at cooking Indian food at home (cuz we couldn't afford to eat out Indian food EVERY night!). Checked out this CD and several others from the local library (for free, woohoo!!) along with a bunch of Indian food cookbooks. What fun! This CD was the best with the catchiest rhythms by FAR! We play this CD whenever we cook/eat Indian food...and whenever we get a craving for Indian music.
Last Christmas we put together four Indian-food-starter gift baskets and included a cookbook (Real Fast Indian Food by Mridula Baljekar...our favorite!) this music CD (cuz Amazon had it on clearance for like 85% off!!) and almost ALL the spices needed to try any dishes from the book. The baskets were a HUGE hit and smelled FABULOUS (the ethnic spices were very fragrant and made everyone crave Indian food!). Not only did the baskets give what was needed to make Indian food, the CD was an extra special touch to complete the experience.
As a final note, I have to say that I consider myself somewhat of a music aficionado. I have a pretty big CD collection at home in a wide range of genres. Alot of movie soundtracks and especially a lot of music which evokes strong emotions or feelings (from happy to sad, passion to anger, etc). Though I don't compete or coach at the moment, I am a synchronized swimmer (since the age of 7) and if I haven't swum to a piece of music personally, I've probably seen someone else swim to it at some point in time. I am always on the search for the perfect piece of music that no one else knows is out there and that leaves a lasting impression. I consider the songs on this CD a few of the many that make up the soundtrack to my life. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
Oh yea, it also makes good background music for when you are playing Lara Croft: Tombraider..."
