"BMG/RCA ARIOLA DE MEXICO has put together a great compilation of Beny More's Mexican tour (1945-1952) and also included some of his RCA Havana recorded sessions with his own band and that of Ernesto Duarte. It is great that "occasionally shelved" hit songs like "Las Posadas", "La Maricutana" and "Loca Pasion, by Beny with Mariano Merceron Orch. were included in this compilation. Although more of these rare sessions with Merceron should've been included, this is a "handy to have" compilation, 40 songs especially for those who are just getting to know "El Barbaro del Ritmo", Beny More and above all, the price is right!"

"I bought this for my older sister's birthday this year. As Cuban immigrants (of the legal variety), we used to listen to Beny More' records all the time when I was a kid back in the 60s-70s, and this brought back a flood of great memories. He was, by far, my late mom's favorite artist. It didn't surprise me that I actually remembered the music and the words to many of these great songs. This is for anyone who wants to hear what real Cuban music was like before Castro forced most of the best talent to get the heck out of dodge. (Venezuelans take note.) The music holds it's own against the best big band sounds from anywhere, and Beny More's voice is amazing to say the least. The recording quality is pretty good too, considering the age of the material. 5 stars."
