"EVER HEAR OF BENNY JOY? YOU KNOW, HE'S THE ONE THAT TURNED DOWN A RECORDING CONTRACT FROM SAM PHILLIPS & SUN RECORDS. WHAT A PITY. THIS CD CLEARLY SHOWS THAT HE COULD HAVE BEEN A RIVAL TO THE GREAT ELVIS. ALL 28 SONGS ARE DYNAMITE, ESPECIALLY "CRASH THE PARTY", "SPIN THE BOTTLE", "CUTIE PIE" & "HEY, HIGH SCHOOL BABY". A GREAT, GREAT TALENT. AN ABSOLUTE MUST FOR ANY VINTAGE ROCK OR ROCKABILLY FAN."

"The title of this CD says it all, it comes crashing in with the first track and doesn't stop rocking all the way through. To describe Benny Joy I would have to say Elvis in his SUN Records years, Roy Orbison, and Carl Perkins all mixed together. But comparing Benny Joy to other artists of the time truly does not do him justice, how someone who made such great music fell into relative obscurity is beyond me but thanks to the people at Ace (who put out so many wonderful CDs) we have most of his recordings available."
