Founding member Steve Rawles formed Belvedere in 1995. After a few lineup shifts, they released their debut, Because No One Stopped Us, on Hourglass and 206 Records. The album sold over 3000 copies and helped Belvedere in 1998?s Bad Religion/Warped Tour Battle Of The Bands, when they beat out hundreds of other groups and won recording time courtesy of Atlantic Records. In the coming year, Belvedere toured the West Coast several more times, supported Bad Religion on a three-month tour and shot their first music video. This tour-hungry band has played with Strung Out, Bad Religion, Dayglo Abortions, Wide Mouth Mason, Good Riddance, Big Wig, Gob, 22 Jacks, Catch 22, SNFU, Ten Foot Pole, Diesel Boy, H2O and Chixdiggit, among others. Other Belvedere projects include several contributions to CD compilations, TV show soundtracks (Nickelodeon?s Caitlin?s Way, Fox Sports) and movie soundtracks (Skate Canada ?00, RIDE: The Movie). Fast Forward Eats The Tape is by far Belvedere?s best stuff to date.
