Synopsis

Album Description
Meet Blu, the new leader of West Coast hip-hop. Since the days of Pharcyde, Freestyle Fellowship and Jurassic 5, few wordsmiths have grabbed the attention of listeners worldwide, but Blu?s delivery flows flawlessly while the content reflects the joy and pain of working class youth everywhere. Introduced to NWA and Public Enemy by his father, Blu later was captivated by Black Star, The Roots, and Common, creating a unique balance that is displayed in Blu?s personality and music. Blu?s first full length LP, below the heavens, pairs him with producer Exile on the Sound In Color imprint. His first single, Narrow Path, rocked stages across the world as fans begin to feel the impact of his music. Blu has performed alongside Slum Village, X-Clan, Platinum Pied Pipers, Lyrics Born, DJ Houseshoes, and others while participating in three hig profile tours alongside musical family members Ta?Raach, Aloe Blacc, and Exile. He also appears on the forthcoming Jazzanova album as a featured MC. All this buzz has fans salivating for new music, looking to put hope in the next emcee that will give them the same feeling as when they first heard Black Thought, Common, or Slum Village.

These Guys Are Amazing

"Ignore the "editorial review" these guys are NOT the greatest thing to hit the hip-hop scene ever. However, they are rising stars of brutal, progressive Orange County metal.

One More Foot in the Grave is catchy in a shovel to the face sort of way. The guitar playing on "Sleepwalk" is not to be missed. And Bass phenom Garret Harrer helps power this all the way through.

"I saw this band tagged along with Veil of Maya on Amazon, and while they are nothing like Veil of Maya they sure are brilliant. I downloaded The Downfall from itunes last night and everything impressed me. The vocals are extremely brutal in the sense that you can tell this guy is REALLY into it. THe drums are clearly not triggered as they have a nice raw quality to them. The guitar work isnt over-processed or copy-pasted and the song structure is nicely done. I also like the fact that there are 13 real songs of music on here with no filler. I am getting tired of receiving a 10 track cd only to have 3+ interludes. Point is, this band is killer and deserves to receive far more recognition then they currently have. If you are looking for the next "oh my god this cd is killer" band, then you should buy The Downfall and support some truly talented musicians. Oh and is it just me, or does the singer sound like the dude from The Agony Scene on his high's?"
