Pleasant, but not much more

"I wanted to like this CD. Honest! I love jazz and I love the Beatles, so this album seemed like a sure thing; unfortunately, while it's not at all bad, it fails to live up to expectations. These pleasant, cocktail-lounge renditions of Beatle tunes are enjoyable enough to listen to, but they contribute nothing of significance to the listener's appreciation of the Beatles' harmonic and melodic brilliance. As background music, these renditions will serve nicely, but I would have liked them to have been something more satisfying."
Excellent expression of great music

"This album is always a pleasure to listen to. It provides virtuoso jazz trio performance while providing a new expression of the subtle compositional brilliance of the Beatles. A true gem of my collection."
