After cutting their teeth in legendary art bands such as the Six Parts Seven, The Party of Helicopters, and Harriet the Spy, the band's four members decided to get back to basics and explore their folk and rock roots. Let's Get Simplified is the group's Audio Eagle debut, and first proper album. The title says it all: the members getting down to brass tacks and baring their souls with heartfelt, beautiful songwriting that touches on friendship, love, desperation, and hometown pride. Time flies, and we always notice too late. Beaten Awake knows that all too well. This is music about holding on to the moment and making the most of things.
