Amazon.comA teaser for their 1998 full-length, Aftermath, the Momentum EP shows a few different sides of the industrial-dance band Battery, from the electro-pop of the two mixes of "Betrayal" to the stomping, head-banging metallurgy of "This Much" to the soulful balladry of "Dopplegänger." Maria Azevedo's emotive singing style may be a bit jarring to the industrial listener used to the cold, heavily distorted vocals that dominate the genre, but her strong voice melds surprisingly well with the gothy electronica. Extra voltage is derived from a battery of remixers, including Hate Dept., Heavy Water Factory, and Ipecac Loop. --Steve Landau
