Battery:industrial music with beautiful vocals (really!)

"This band has a remarkable asset in the voice of their lead singer, Maria, who has a full, expressive set of lungs that doesn't need to be distorted through tons of filters - which is unusual for industrial! Also, out of a mere handful of industrial bands with female singers, Battery stand out with some nice melodies and interesting noises. There are some songs that fall short - and my least favorite are the ones on which the keyboardist sings instead of Maria - some that are run-of-the-mill industrial exercises, but there are also a lot of songs with originality. There are a lot of songs on this album, basically, so you have all of Battery - the mediocre and the fantastic. I think there is enough fantatic to outweight the mediocre."
A solid outing

"Nearly every track on here, especially the bonus tracks, is a delight. that said, i could do without the cover of gangsta's paradise. the lyrics and rhythm of the track just dont seem to really mesh with the rest of the album. i'm a big fan of darkwave/industrial with a female lead, and this is one of the better ones i've found. if you're familiar with hate dept, luxt, switchblade symphony, and/or assemblage 23, you'll probably enjoy this album."
