"This is only the second Barlow Girl project I listened to -- I have yet to listen to their second effort.
I was surprised with the strings on the opening song -- and pleased. I enjoyed this one much more than the debut project.
Most of the time, I avoid reading any of the other reviews before I post mine, but this time I looked at the trio of 2 star reviews and the one 3 star review. One pointed out the music style is different. I agree, but for me, this is a plus. One mentioned it was too slow and another that all sounded the same. They must have been listening to different projects. Another mentioned the lyrics were hard to understand. To some extent I agree, but I didn't find it harder than a lot of other projects by other artists. And there was a lot I did understand without consulting the lyrics.
One person mentioned the cover art (on the one 4 star review I read). I found the first picture to make a statement, tying in the title to the concept of "One More Round". This is not the first time Christianity has been equated with a boxing match (e.g. "Contender" by Sweet Comfort Band, "No Way I'm Going Down" by White Cross, "I Come Out Fighting" by Greg Volx), and that is because of its applications.
My favorite tracks? "Song For The Broken", "Here's My Life", "Million Voices", "Sweet Revenge", "One More Round", and "I Don't Regret"."
Great music with a great message!!

"I'm a HUGE fan of Another Journal Entry, so I definitely wanted to check out BarlowGirl's latest album. To be honest, when I listened to the preview samples, I wasn't sure if I would like the album. But, I decided to buy it anyway, and I'm SOOOOO glad I did. I love it! The lyrics are truly powerful and you can tell they've really poured out their hearts into this album, sharing their victories and struggles as followers of Christ. They are continuing to encourage other young believers to stand up and not be afraid to go against what the current culture says is 'right' but to firmly believe and trust in God through everything. An uplifting message to me, a 20-something young woman striving to do what is right in God's eyes :)
My absolute favorite songs are One More Round (which is the story of my life :P), I Believe in Love, Here's My Life, Million Voices (their self-proclaimed anthem), and I Don't Regret. I Don't Regret is an excellent answer to those that have criticized them for what they stand for. BarlowGirl answers back with powerful lyrics such as "They're telling me they're concerned for the way I am living, that I'll miss it all...I don't regret choosing You and I'm not ashamed...Why do we think if we trust God too much He'll fail us...". I'd highly suggest purchasing the How Can We Be Silent (premium edition) Which includes the CD plus a DVD containing footage of them in the studio and the photo shoot for the album. You'll also hear in their own words what inspired each song."
Another great album

"Barlow girl is super talented and super honest in their music. This CD is totally awesome. Best tracks are "Keep Quiet" and "I believe in Love""
Barlowgirl's definitely don't keep silent!

"BarlowGirl's are one of those artists for me that I have followed since the beginning of their career. I love How Can We Be Silent because it is full of so much maturity and growth. BarlowGirl has finally established themselves as a top rock band in Christian music. How Can We Be Silent is full of amazing melodies and even stronger lyrics. Its a little cliche but I can't think of a better band for preteen and teen girls to be listening to. Though this album should easily appeal to any rock fan!"
