Barbara chante Barbara

"Ce que Monsieur German écrit au sujet de ce disque est faux. Barbara n'est absolument pas dans la veine de Hardy et encore moins de Laforêt. First of all, Barbara is a musician and a poet , which are not Hardy or Laforêt, what she sings about is very sentimental, but also very deep and musically subtle. Then this record is not a compilation but one of her best selling album from 64, and she has that such special voice. This record , very inspired , contains "à mourir pour mourir" (dying for dying) or "Pierre"... Nothing to do with the kitsh marie Laforêt !"

"with "Barbara chante barbara" or "l'album à la rose" signed her first master-piece as both a singer, a pianist and a songwriter. Some others like "amours incestueuses", "la louve", "la fleur d'amour" ... were on the way. Songs like Pierre, Nantes, A mourir pour mourir are pure intimacy, very subtle orchestrations, voice and poetic inspirations at her best."
