"I hate flying. For the past two or three years Qantas has this CD on its in-flight classical playlist and over six flights I have listened to this, once, twice, over and over, drowning the fear, the ennui, the dull engine purr and the terrible problem of time. I have another CD of these same Bach's violin concertos at home but there is a subtle and important difference which I have learnt to attribute to the crystal tone of Tognetti's violin. It is as if he is having a private conversation with the source of such disquiet. Recently, other nascent anxieties had surfaced and I remembered Tognetti's Bach and lay down and allowed Bach and Tognetti's violin to crawl into those spaces and caress them out of the way and leave my head swimming with a private conversation with Bach. A must in these troubled times."
