"Her duet with the great Adelbert Krause in "Gloria En Excelsis Deo" (Cantata 191) makes for a heavenly duo! I recorded this very same cantata from FM stereo radio onto audiocassette tape in the early '70s. I listened to it for years on those occasions when I needed the inspiration of a quintessentially fine voice like Yamamoto's. Helmut Rilling's direction and Krause's accompaniment elevate her beautiful soprano voice to heights well above the gothic heaven and into a near nirvana for me. When the intro chorus leads into the flute overture to the duet, we're treated to a beautiful surprise as the duet "Gloria patre" begins out of the blue and takes you by the arm and soul into a song paradise. Next to nature music for relaxation and meditation, I recommend it to attain a spiritual comfort, hearing the best a human voice can offer in worship. The great Bach supplies the compositional wherewithal to begin with. Of course, a CD likely provides clearer listening than a taped radio broadcast."
