"Babylonian Tiles captured my interest with their first CD release, "Basking in the Sun at Midnight". From there, each album has shown further development of their unique sound. I like to think of it as a psych-goth version of Phil Spector's "wall of sound". Teknicolour Aftermath is a great album, with swirling, full-sounding organ, deep, thick bass and laser lysergic-laden guitar complementing the classical splashes on the organ. And, the percussion, while never dominating, fills-out and drives the sound to give a very tight ensemble feel to the music. Above the wall of sound floats Bryna's exotic, haunting, mystical vocals and lyrics, with a touch of Middle-Eastern or Southeast Asian microtonal scales in the melody, bringing an element of world music to the psychedelic-Gothic sound. The punk elements found on their earlier releases have been transformed into more of a space-metal sound here. There are some re-recordings of earlier works but all have matured in the process. I hear touches of Bauhaus, Husker Du, Pink Floyd and Ultimate Spinach/Doors but never derivative of any other band. This is one of the more unique and accomplished ensembles recording in the rock field today and are well worth the listen for anyone interested in a refreshing approach to modern rock music."

"Babylonian Tiles - Teknicolour Aftermath. Distort-O-Sound Records. This album is finally domesticated for your aural pleasure the ablum is also re-packaged, and re-mastered courtesy of Distort-O-Sound Records. This band has been around the block, several times, and pack a heavy potpourri of sounds full of influences, some obvious and not so obvious, into their albums. Their unique approach to their stylized experimentalism has created not only a cult following of space, psych, and progrock enthusiasts,Amboy Dukes, early Pink Floyd, and Ultimate Spinach, Babylonian Tiles have also captured the goth, or Darkwave enthusiasts, Bauhaus, The Chameleons, Kommunity FK, Sex Gang Children, or Christian Death. Teknicolour Aftermath is nothing new to the person who has nabbed their previous releases, although, their is a cover of Donovan's tune 'Season Of The Witch,' and a bonus track 'Going And Going Away.' The four tracks re-mastered in 2000 are: 'Boulevard,' Reason For Grey,' Far Far Away,' and 'Crystal Gavel. This band is very tight in the studio and also when they play live. Their musicianship or interaction with one another is complimentary to one another and is right on the mark. The tracks cut to the chase with no arduous solo either by Bryna's organ or Tim Thayers guitar, furthermore, Bryna's lyrics touch on sex, death, and happiness juxtaposed with her wit, charm, and depth. Bryna is captivating with her, Indian/Middle Eastern, approach to her vocals. Each track elegantly carries the listener to colorful places. This CD is a must for all music lovers. Babylonian Tiles - Teknicolour Aftermath, on Distort-O-Sound Records is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED."
