CD Reviews

~5 stars isnt high enough~

"This artist is so good, 5 stars are not enough! Ayub Ogada is such a talented Kenyan musical performer, his music is just AMAZING!! A few of his songs can be heard on the movie, "I Dreamed of Africa". I cannot say enough good things about this artist! I listen to his music all this time & never get tired of hearing him! I love this cd & think that it would be a favorite in any collection."
Beautiful!

"I bought this CD while at a yoga retreat. I sampled the music quickly and bought it almost on impulse. Now it is 6 months later and I continue to listen to it almost every day (one reviewer wrote how his wife listens to it every day and I wonder if that's not my husband using a psudonym..?) Truly, this cd is nothing short of a precious gem in my otherwise very Anglo Saxon music collection. He is featured on many collaboration/collection cds, but I think I'll wait for his next solo release. PLEASE let there me another solo release!"
Deep, refreshing.. a piece of peace in motion

"As a Kenyan, I feel immensely proud of Ogada's path. He was always ahead of his time musically.. even with the African Heritage band years ago. Living away from home, it's Ogada's music that reminds me of just how diverse and rich our traditional sounds are. I often reach out for Kothbiro in those moments of nostalgia. This album is precious - as precious and as cherished as Lokua Kanza, Lionel Loueke and Richard Bona. In my world, the work of these amazing african musicians floats somewhere, slightly above the realm music.. simply put - it's peace in motion.
