"Autumn's Child may be be the best kept secret in modern World Beat music. It all started as a way to showcase the diversity of the Native Flute. So during this journey (that has included four Autumn's Child CD's and two solo efforts from Mark Holland), fans have been treated to an evolution of sorts.
Mark is adept at truly placing the Native Flute in setting after setting that continue to bear out his mission to authenticate the Native Flute as a legitimate lead instrument.
StoryTelling is the newest of the stunning AC offerings. AC reminds us of the past by reworking some material from their debut CD "A New Awakening" (now out of print) like 'Row of White Tree's', 'River Path', 'Wind's Song', and 'Silent Sky'. These are not mere remixes of older works... rather they are beautiful songs that have been rerecorded and reinterpreted with new life.
The new material continues in the progress and tradition that AC has carved out for themselves. "Rejoice" is an upbeat song that is sure to bring out the festive heart in its listeners while "Where Water's Flow" is more contemplative. "From a Raindrop to a River" is what I would term a patented AC song- Lush strings accompanied by the Native Flute, percussion, and guitar.
If you are new to Autumn's Child, this CD is a superb first purchase. With the tributes to their older music and the continuing journey towards the new, AC is sure to win new fans abroad."
