"I heard the "Bird on a Wire" cut as the hit of the day on the BBC world news, and it captured me. The news report plays the song with the vocalist talking over the top of it, explaining how the song came to be and explaining the music. It's a very different take on this folk classic, with an Indian feel to it, and giving Leonard Cohen's poetic lyrics a wonderful stage. The vocalist has a silky voice and with the choice bass line they really do a nice weaving of sound. I bought five of the songs from the album (elsewhere), and I especially liked the jazzy Surya and the soothing Vara Sapta Swara. The music is clean, flawless, and interesting enough to keep your mind happy."
