Finest in ethnic trance rock

"The finest in ethnic trance rock, this group from poland uses ancient and modern instruments to create an organic blend in the spirit of Cadona and Third Ear Band, with a modern twist. Also recommeded to fans of 70's Popol Vuh. But they go a little further out on the ragged psychedelic edge than any of those bands except maybe latter Third Ear Band, and add a little of the 90's trance sound in with the 70's space psyche and ethnic grooves."

Atman - 'Personal Forest' (Drunken Fish)

"Impressive follow-up to this Polish band's 'Tradition' CD (see my review)and just as good.Best described as 'new age / ambient'. Looks like Atman had only released two discs. Tracks I found myself playing repeatedly were the ten-minute epic "Forest Of Karma" (possibly the CD's best cut), "Free Tibet", "Talking Meadow" and the inspiring "Rainbow Drums". Line-up: Piotr Koleck-sitar, 12-string guitar & percussion, Marek Styczynski-woodwind instruments and Marek Leszcynski-percussion. Not to be confused with an electronic band of the same name. Might appeal to fans of Back Off Cupids, Hash Jar Tempo, rhBand and Lights in A Fat City. Nice!"
