"Why H. is completely unknown in the States is a mystery. He is THE god of French music of his generation, and every subsequent generation, for that matter. (Honestly, I think he is even under appreciated in his home country of France, but that is another topic).



He is a musician's musician, (trained jazz pianist and son of Jacques Higelin) so he understands harmony and theory. But unlike with professional musicians, as is the often the case, he doesn't let it get in the way of his creativity. Arthur H is first a poet, who happens to use music as his medium.



I say that, but there is also Arthur H the comedian. He can be hilarious when performing in concert. I have yet to see another artist perform an accordion solo on his knees looking like a Blues Brother.



The most recent CD, ' L' Homme du Monde' is a great place to start. So is my personal favorite, 'Negress Blanche'."
