"When Art passed away two years ago, the music community lost a musician at the height of his craft. This album gives Art's fans a chance to hear the up close and personal side of Art. With Lake-Shore drive you get a feeling of the excitement that Art brought to his music. But, from the first few notes of flying high, you switch gears new relms of funk. Any musician, especially a sax player will understand why this song's name is flying high after listening to the power in it. Many of the live tracks on this cd capture the essence of live performance. Lay your hands on me captures this essence well into this song with free form expression. Listening to this song, I found myself on a musical journey. I feel that is the hallmark of a live performance. Finally, Mr. Porter (track 3) is a great tribute from the musicians that Art's music has touched. Even though I never got a chance to see him live, This album makes me feel like I was at the performances where his concerts we! re taped. I recommend this to any Art Porter/Jazz/R&B and funk listener. I hope the producers can find some more performances of Art and make another album. Tell me what you think."

"Art Porter was an awesome musician! I have all of his CDs and was very sad to hear when he passed away. Talk about a unique style and professional player, Art was the consummate musician. I hope someone transposes his solos in order to teach others and keep raising the bar for sax players everywhere. Art was truly a fine musician. Another fine saxophonist - Gerald Albright pays tribute to Art on Track #3 "Mr. Porter" with a great solo honoring Art. Jeff Lorber collaborated with Art on a few of the other cuts - need I say more? Well worth adding to your collection. Listen for yourself! We'll miss you Art!"

"I was sorry the hear of Mr. Porter's passing. I am a fairly new fan of his, and his music is indeed soulful and full of feeling.I possess his two CD's and envelope myself with his tunes as often as I can."
