"If you're into virtuoso strings with a bit of discord, a bit of utterly original rhythm, some gorgeous melodies, some exploration of the extreme and beautiful range of these three instruments--then you will love this album. Like a Shostakovich or Bartok quartet, this music takes a while to get to know well and is ultimately much more rewarding than any bubble gum you like immediately and soon spit out. These musicians push their instruments, play them in unusual ways--including drumming on what must be the cello--and work together and split apart as only virtuosos can. In case you have no idea what to expect, it's a 70+-minute album with purely instrumental music performed live. Violin, cello and double bass. The music combines elements of modern and post-modern classical work, folk, maybe a little blues and a style that is Arcado's own."
