Synopsis

Album Description
If you are familiar with the Caribbean Medley from Donnie McClurkin's Live in London CD or Speak to Me from Kirk Franklin and the Family or Perpetual Praise, I Am, and Lord You've Been Good from Bam Crawford's Purpose or Be Connected (Stay Connected) from Rev. Jackie McCullough or the Real Power CD from Stitchie or the Victory CD from Papasan or Christafari CDs or the Joy CD from Chevelle Franklyn or the Redeemed CD from Carlene Davis, you have already heard Caribbean or Caribbean influenced gospel music. Aquannette Chinnery's CD titled "Who Is Like Unto You?" gives you not only familiar types of gospel such as contemporary gospel or traditional gospel but also Caribbean gospel (soca/calypso gospel and gospel reggae). Ranging from the contemporary gospel title track "Who Is Like Unto You?" featuring the smooth saxophone of Mel Holder to the high energy soca/calypso gospel track "High High High featuring Loris Holland's blazing keyboards that take you to a higher level of praise, the CD also features the more traditional calypso "I Believe" with its sweet steel pan sound and catchy lyrics and "Sweet," another high-energy soca/calypso gospel tune that will have you jumping up for Jesus Christ. Aquannette and Loris also created a new, original soca/calypso medley of three familiar tunes. Several reggae tracks include the catchy "No Other Love Is Greater," "El Elyon-The Most High God" with its dancehall-like interlude, and "The Blood of Jesus," which takes you back to church. "So Good To Me" will have you rocking, swaying, shouting, stamping your feet, and clapping your hands to this traditional Black gospel type tune. The final track on the CD, Elohim, is a praise and worship song that has an almost symphonic, heavenly hosts-like sound with a reggae interlude and dramatic finish.
