"The genre of Mexican music, corridos from the revolutionary period is best done by Mexico's favorite singer, actor, and cowboy, Antonio Aguilar. This CD is excellent, the sound is revitalized, crisp and clear!
The corrido is also known as folk music and it is the means of telling the story of this historic and cultural war experience from the 1800s, and probably the most famous was Mexico's hero, Francisco (Pancho) Villa. You will hear the stories of other battles, famous soldiers, leaders, political movements and assassinations about Zapata, General Benjamin Argumendo, and more.
One important aspect about corridos is to understand what the story is about. If you don't understand the language, you are missing out on a lot. Search for corridos of the revolution to find the translation of some of the songs and a deeper understanding of the time period.......MzRizz

"There are no corridos revolucionarios nortenos like the ones in this album and no singer norteno like Antonio Aguilar to sing them. An era ended when he died 19 June 2007."
