An essential pop album despite "flaws"

"As with any Anton CD, the actual songs are almost invariably brilliant even though a few of them are cover versions of previous Anton tunes. However, there are non-melodic and thoroughly unessential snippets tossed into the mix that keep this from being the perfect pop album it should have been. "Anton Pains Broyhill," for example, would have made more sense as an introduction to "Third Eye" or just left off altogether. But with tracks like "Octagon," "Xmas Song," "Sula2," and "Helen Mirren" included, there's no excuse for Anton fans (or just fans of Pop music in general) not to have this one. My personal favorite is the delirious version of "Little Bleep Bleep," which always manages to have me hopping about the room and then leave me chuckling at the end. (Anton would likely be proud to know that the only other song to elicit a similar response from me is the Dukes of Stratosphear's "My Love Explodes.") And I might have been responsible for getting "C'mon Girl" on the CD, for what that's worth."
