"If you like Hill's "A Beautiful Day" recording from 2002, you will love "The Day The World Stood Still." It features the same rhythm section of Hill, Scott Colley, and Nasheet Waits as found on "A Beautiful Day" along with a line-up of six Danish wind players. The whole ensemble sounds very cohesive and comfortable, allowing Hill's beautifully intrepid compositions to fully achieve their brilliance. The recording quality is excellent- the best live jazz recording I've heard in a long time. Colley's bass, which I found to be very undermixed on "A Beautiful Day", comes through especially clear. Check it out- this one's special."
