Product Descriptionundervaluated since they are too often compared with the uvre of his son Domenico. However, this part of his output holds its own as far as originality is concerned, particularly in view of these works' technical and harmonic innovations as well as of the formal structure of some of the toccatas. The virtuoso quality of these works acquire clearer definition through the particular sound and tone of the Italian organs and harpsichords, which have a typically silverly and bright timbre. The organ used for this recording was built in 1732/33 by Giancinto Pescetti for the Venetion Church of SS. Biagio e Cataldo in Giudecca. Today it is located in the church San Giacomo in Polcenigo. The harpsichord was built by Tony Chinnery (Florence) in 1987. It is a copy of the instrument built by Carlo Grimaldi da Messina in 1679, which is preserved now in the Museum of Musical Instruments in Nuremberg.
