"Before any Calamaro fan jumps at me for giving 3 starts to this release let me clarify why is that.
The original release of this album consists of a box set including 6 CDs and 2 DVDs. It was released also as a single CD edition and a CD+DVD version was released as well. It seems we are only getting the single CD version as Amazon does not list yet the box set or the CD+DVD edition.
The idea behind 'Obras Incompletas' was that Calamaro selected on his own which songs would made it into the discs. Discs 1, 2 and 3 would include a selection of hits, all songs from the official published discography. Disc 4 would include rarities (some of them available on internet for years) and b-sides. Disc 5 would include unreleased material and live recordings and finally, disc 6 is a covers album, Calamaro performing other artists works, from Fito Paez and Joaquin Sabina to Pink Floyd and The Beatles.
This album contains most of the songs from disc 1 (Tracks 1 to 13 and 18), some from disc 2 (tracks 14, 16 and 17) and the single extracted from disc 4 ("Bachicha", originally released on the web for the 'Camboya Profundo' project)
The songs included range from his period from 'Alta Suciedad', for some reason, previous works as 'Hotel Calamaro' and 'Nadie sale vivo de aqui' were not considered as more recent works were. 'Alta Suciedad', 'El Salmon', 'Los chicos', 'Paloma' 'Loco', all of them hits, play one after the other, the plus? They are all remastered.
By listening to this album you can clearly see how consistent Calamaro has been with his rock releases, unfortunately his evolution can't be really appreciated as alternate projects such as 'El cantante' or 'Tinta roja' are not present.
For what is worth, all 18 tracks are well know songs, they are remastered and sound better than ever. If you see this album the way I do, as a 'Greatest hits', you will not be disappointed. Graphic design as usual with his albums, is superb.
