"PIVOT is the 2nd album from Amoeba: the partnership of space-music genius Robert Rich and his longtime guitarist friend Rick Davies. This is one of those albums where you will reap big rewards with repeated listenings. Stylistically, it contains elements of David Sylvian, Robert Fripp, Beatle-esque psychedelia and gothic sensibilities similar to V.A.S.T., but overall it's really unique and hard to define. Robert Rich, who is best known as an instrumental electronic artist, demonstrates that he is really a talented if somewhat subdued vocalist on this album. While I feel that the first Amoeba album WATCHFUL is slightly superior, PIVOT is extremely intriguing and very different from anything you're likely to hear anywhere. One of the most refreshing albums I've heard in years."
