""Evening Raga" has quickly become my favorite Amjad Ali Khan album. The last piece -- "Bengali and Asameese Folk Song" -- is simply amazing. It is a faster, bright piece that even the uninitiated will appreciate. Many listeners may recall it as a common encore piece Khan does during live performances. While the recorded version is admittedly not as good as the improvised live versions, listening it to after the more classical pieces gives the listener a sense of the breadth of Khan's style. Indeed, the album's combination of classical and folk motifs make this album an ideal introduction to Amjad Ali Khan, who himself is one of the best ambassadors of North Indian classical music."
