"I have worked in the production of this album in Miami during the last 9 months. For a better perception of the record, people have to know about the composer: Gonzalo Roig , a famous cuban composer(1890-1970). Amistad 404 was his Home address( a National Monument in Havana today ), where he born and die at 80 years. Is a tipical, nostalgic, romantic, cuban music, mainly composed betwen 1915 and 1940. One of his wellknown songs is QUIEREME MUCHO( 1917)(Yours ). The musicians?: Starting with Paquito D'Rivera playing his saxo in AMISTAD 404, suite(#12)( terrific!). A trumpet: Adalberto Lara "Trompetica", in track #1 and track#4 Singers and good music?: "Ojos Brujos"# 11 , "Yo te Ame" # 5 , "Estas en Mi" # 3 , and #2 "Dolor de Amor" . A good piano instrumental?: Rey Casas,#8 "Hoy la he Visto". Rogelio Cruz, a guitar and singer, that sound like a soul #5. The rest of the tracks show a "very cuban music nostalgic concert" A discovery?: Rey Casas(39), pianist and director, music producer. He make the arrengments for the total record. A real promise. Cover, history book , photos, Gonzalo Roig's home, singers, life.Including photo of the first concert of Paquito D'Rivera at 12 years old in Havana, in 1961. I think the product may apear in the latin, and latin jazz sections. May I recomend it. Thank's for your attention to this lines ( please, excuse my english )"

"This recording is filled with classy melodies of soothing yet moving and contagious Cuban rythms with a hint of elegant jazz. The quality of the production is obvious throughout. Listening to this music transports the soul to the Havana of the first half of the 20th century. The music invites one to only imagine how it must have been like in that cosmopolitan Cuba when Americans used to enjoy visiting for passion, pleasure, gambling, and tropical relaxation. An oasis just a few short miles away from Florida's shores. This recording is a must for music lovers all over. I also love the design of the box and the accompanying booklet with its account of the Great Gonzalo Roig and his life. The photography of Roig's life is transporting and the graphic design most fitting. I highly recommend this recording!!! Wordy of a Grammy!!!"
