"Last year I was listening to my favorite Pacifica jazz station in the Washington, DC region, WPFW (89.3) and they played this song where this woman was saying "aye, aye, aye, yah, yah, yah" and I was like WHO IS THAT??? I called and the dj told me it was the title cut from Circle of Time by the Amino Claudine Myers Trio. I never heard of her. But it didn't matter, I went online that day to try to find this never-heard-of-before artist and fortunately found plenty of sites with the cd avialable. Some charging ridiculously high prices but I found it for about $20, it was worth it.
Listening to her on the track Plowed Fields alone was worth the price of admission. I was also surprised to read the cd was published in 1987! Plowed Field, Do You Wanna Be Saved and Circle of Time are the standouts for me but the instruments in between are JUST as worthy. I love playing this cd while I'm gardening or cooking or bbqing in the back yard. She plays an incredible harmonica on Plowed Fields also.
I just can't think of enough words to describe how good this cd is. Buy it if you love good, clean, simple jazz with a tremendous harmonic voice.
"seeing the plowed fields made me wanna go barefooted""
HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL
