It's Rock, Pop, and Moveable!

"Well, Is it any wonder that Australia is excelling in great music proportions. Amiel is another great aussie wonder. With a few hits under her belt, she has made an impact on many australians. With her ever-so-catchy hit song 'Lovesong', where the album version is quite coarse on language- but yet, it sits well. Just like Eminem using corny rap grammer and foul language... Amiel can do it nicely. Her second song, 'Obsession (i love you)' is a great, bubbly, light pop-rock catchy tune. It's enough to get you in a good mood when the chorus comes along...."...i love you, and everything you do...i love you'" Just so good. She even showcases a good range of musical beats...her dance-ballad-pop (think Tina Cousins) 'Theme for a one night stand' is impressive and radio friendly. 'Tonight' her 3rd release is a catchy woven beat mix that delivers yet another catchy chorus. Her ability to sing and write songs is an impressive lead for Amiel. She can deliver great pop-rock- and perhaps anything she puts her mind to. Other highlights on the album include- Missing The Music, Clair De Lune and Nothing Can Break Me. Each exert a different emotion, and set you in a better mood instantly, just listen, stay tuned and welcome Amiel openly. At only 24, she can only make your day happier when you put this cd in your stereo, car, or at work. It just works for you!!! A Good overall album. AUDIO OUT!!!"

"So, the singer-songwriter "Amiel" finally releases a debut album after five years in the industry. Just a bit of history, Amiel's debut single came out in 1998 and was titled 'Addicted to Bass' (with Josh Abraham), but then, she wasn't called Amiel - she was called 'Amiel Daemion'. It was the 100th highest selling single in Australia in 1998!!! And peaked at 2 (I think) in the UK. You may remember it as the wa-a-wa-ow! song, a year later she released another single under the name of Amiel called 'The Chase'. And then, she wrote a song 'Meet Me In The Red Room' which is featured on Volume II on the Moulin Rouge soundtrack.
Now, the review::
The CD starts of with the platium-selling single 'Lovesong' It is about a guy Amiel took out on a few dates, but never went anywhere, and all she had left was another lovesong, another 'f-cking lovesong' - if you know what I mean. The third single 'Tonight' follows, and even though I don't really like it went quite well in Japan, peaking at #69 and peaked in the 60's in Australia as well. This wouldn't be my pick for a single though.
Track 3 is the very imaginative 'Clair de Lune', and like the next song, this track is very rock-pop (emphasise the 'rock' part in the chorus) and is my second favourite here. Following this is the VERY rockish 'Side by Side' - and although I don't understand the lyrics at all, it is still a great song - my favourite.
'Missing the Music' is Amiel's favourite and one of mine too. Like tracks 3 and 9 it was written with J. Abrahams (the best songs, in my opinion come from him) After this, is the ballad 'All of Me' which is very chillout and extremely slow, but then, a change of pace when the second single and seventh track 'Obsession' arrives. It is very undergorund and danceable and clubbish.
'Games We Play' like trx 1 and 10 was written by Amiel alone - It has hopeless lyrics, but still it is creative and a great song (it was featured on the 'Lovesong' single' also.) 'Theme For A One Night Stand' is a song that I had to let grow on me. It is very original and long, and Amiel's angelic vocals go really well with it. I don't really like Final Piece' but my third favourite 'Nothing Can Break Me' leaves you in a happy mood after you press '' on your CD player (or whatever else) and was one of the last songs written for the masterpiece 'Audio Out'
