CD Reviews

Istrumentally Great
02/20/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"(Reffering to "bend me shape me")The roll in the beginning is cool and the vocals are nice but what really caught my attention the first time I heard "Bend me Shape me" Was the Amazing Trumpet part!!(this coming from a trumpet player!) Even throughout the entire CD the Music itself was Great. You probablly would guess I'm some old guy but I'm a teen And Loved the entire thing!!=)"
Great formula for a great sound

"I agree there could have been a few more songs on this cd, but it is still very enjoyable.TheAmerican Breed are my favorite horn based rock band of all time. They had a great production formula which made for a great,if not to short-lived sound.Especially in the dawning of Psych and Heavy Rock. I own all the ls as well as a few 45's, and the cd fidelity-wise stands up well against them. The cd has more dynamics and punch, while the lps. tend to be a little more laid back, with a bit more detail(also more noise).several people have heard this music at my house and really enjoyed it.A few were people too young to have remembered it, others got pleasant flashbacks.Well worth having in your classic rock collection. They also did a few late 60's commercial spots that were cool too.I am an AB fan for life."
Missing two of my favorites

"If only this collection included two of my favorites, "Mindrocker" (as pointed out by Mr. O'Leary) and "Sometime in the Morning" from the Bend Me, Shape Me album it would be perfect. There's still a lot to enjoy here and some of these recordings just never wear thin with me."
