CD Reviews

A great set of albums from the 1970s
A Fan | VA | 12/13/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is a box set of America's last six Warner Brothers albums, "Hat Trick" (which peaked at 28 on the US Billboard album chart in 1973), "Holiday" (reached number 3 in 1974 and was certified GOLD by the RIAA), "Hearts" (hit 4 in 1975 and was certified GOLD), "Hideaway" (peaked at 11 in 1976 and was certified GOLD), "Harbor" (reached 21 in 1977) and "Live" (which hit 127 in 1978). All but "Hat Trick" were produced by legendary Beatles producer, Sir George Martin. Included in this set are many big hits from the 1970s including "Sister Golden Hair" (reached number 1 on the US Billboard singles chart in 1975), "Tin Man" (number 4 in 1974), "Lonely People" (number 5 in 1974), "Daisy Jane" (number 20 in 1975), and "Today's the Day" (hit 23 in 1976). It also includes several other songs that were minor hits or received a lot of airplay on radio stations which played album cuts like: "Another Try", "Old Virginia", "Amber Cascades", "Woman Tonight", "Muskrat Love", "Baby It's Up To You", "Jet Boy Blue", and "Bell Tree"; also has live versions of their early hits "Horse With No Name", "I Need You", and "Ventura Highway". All in all a great collection if you do not already own the individual releases!"
