History is an actually great greatest hits collection. I've listened to quite a few of America's albums and their other collections that have been released over the years, and I think this is as good as it gets for them. I feel a little guilty about "Muskrat Love," but I usually just sing along anyway--I can't help it. The rest of it is a guilt-free pleasure for me. If you are looking to add some America to your life and listening, you can't go wrong with this.

Great compilation of America's greatest hits. Many are the types of songs you know by heart but don't remember the band or artist involved.

CD Reviews
All the "America" hits you love

"I had first bought the "Here and Now" hoping to hear the original recordings, but was slightly disappointed that on that CD the older songs were live performances only. If you want their hits as you remember hearing them on the radio or your old album that may be trashed, this is the CD for you."

"I love the song 'Horse with no Name', don't ask me what it's about, just a catchy tune. America always had the song with the catchy tunes and here you can get all of them in one album. No need to buy any other America collection, their history album tells it all."
Not as complete as America the complete greatest hits.

"I really like this band. I don't know of any of their songs I don't like. I have always listened to this cd and thought it was great. Then I saw and heard them on Soundstage and I couldn't believe all the great songs I forgot about that aren't on this cd. If I were to buy just one of their cd's I would buy America The Complete Greatest Hits. I gave them 4 stars because of the missing songs."
America's good stuff

"Only in America. They rode in on the wave of The Eagles, John Denver, Anne Murray, and Gordon Lightfoot. There was no such thing as "light rock" when these great tunes were created. The music of America was very much a part of the sound of the 70's.
A special friend to Dewey was Phil Hartman. Back then Phil was a graphic artist who spread his creativity on the canvas of an LP. That's right... Phil was one outstanding pen and ink guy who created the artwork on THIS album!
Isn't it funny how the most gifted of artists tend to resonate that way... bringing their own creative flavor to the music that motivated a generation. Enjoy America's Greatest Hits - History... Maybe you may be motivated to do something great, too!"
