"The Clouds of Northland Thunder is the second full-length studio album by Finnish symphonic power metal band Amberian Dawn. It was released on the 13th of May 2009 and is similar in style and sound to their first album, River of Tuoni, despite a few minor changes in the band's lineup. The lead singer, Heidi Parviainen, fortunately continues to front for the band. Heidi has a strong and beautiful classical voice comparable to Tarja, from Nightwish, or Simone Simmons, from Epica although the music tends to be less "symphonic" than either of those bands. The sixth song on the album, Lost Soul has an almost folk metal sound. Whatever label applies, the album maintains a full, sophisticated, and very satisfying sound throughout. If you like bands like Nightwish, Coronatus, Wildpath, or Epica, you will probably like both of Amberian Dawn's albums.

Instant classic

"I never thought that Amberian Dawn would top their first album...but I was soooo wrong. Album #2 is way better in every way. Though #1 had probably catchier songs, #2's songs are more intricate and have more lasting power. I think the songs will hold up better over time. Definitely get this!"
Another great band find.

"As a big Nightwish fan I just found out about this band last week on this very page. I`m glad that amazon puts up samples of this and other bands song to find music that suits my pick taste. Also euro metal in the US is more or less an underground thing so you rarely hear about them in music magazine. I was looking through some cd reviews in Metal Hammer magazine at the book store and found a review for Amberian Dawn which piqued my interest. So I ended up buying both of their cds.I`ve listen to river of tuori since I haven`t recived the cloud... cd yet.Iwas impressed with the song writing, female singer and every other part of this cd.Check`em out as well as anouther band called Operatika which I was recommend based on me buying Amberian Dawn."
