"My first contact with The Alice Project was by accident. They were playing at a party held after a play my family attended in Princeton, New Jersey. We immediately fell in love with the group! The tunes are alive, catchy, innovative and fun. But I especially love her lyrics. Her words are thoughtful, clever and sometimes pointed. My favorite song is "Marilyn's Things", about wanting to own Marilyn Monroe's things. "Is your sorry life so empty? Can't you fill it on your own? Oh why would you want her things?" "We're so obsessed, turning the ordinary into gold." It's a really great song. The tune to "Traveling with Lady Berlin" is one you find yourself singing all day. Again, the words are clever. You think it talks of preparing for an outward trip only to find it's an inward one. The group is fun to listen to live. Alice's voice is strong and meaty as is her guitar playing. She's also got a great sense of humor! The musicians are also versatile and strong. I have already given several of these CD's as gifts. It comes highly recommended!"
